In short

The almanac has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Everything you enter stays on your device.

What stays on your device

Birth details you enter (name, date, time, place).
Your journal entries, ratings and tags.
Settings such as language, color scheme and current location.

These are stored only in the app (or, on the website, in your browser). We cannot see them. Deleting the app, or using “Start over”, removes them.

What is sent online

Place search. When you look up a birthplace or current location, the place name you type is sent to Open-Meteo’s geocoding service (and, for names written in Chinese, to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim) to find its coordinates and time zone. Nothing else is sent with it.
Ask AI. “Ask AI about this reading” only copies text to your clipboard or opens a file you choose to save. It is sent nowhere unless you paste it into another service yourself, which then follows that service’s own privacy policy.
Saving and sharing. Exported files go only where you send them with the iPhone share sheet.
Weather. To show the current temperature, the coordinates of the place you set as your current location are sent to Open-Meteo.

Hosting

The website is hosted by Netlify, and fonts and code libraries load from Google Fonts and jsDelivr. Like any website, these services receive your IP address and basic browser information when the page loads. We do not use them to track you.

Readings

Readings are generated on your device from astronomical calculations and traditional rules. They describe symbolic tendencies, not facts, predictions or medical or psychological advice. See About and Terms.

Children

The almanac is not directed to children under 13.
